The band got most of the attention, in fact, with Katherine Treanor, music honor society president Erica Hilscher, music director Lynn Fournier and others all speaking in support of funding proposed for marching band, pep band, and flag coach pay supplements.

• Chairman Mills opened the meeting with a moment of silence dedicated to Stonewall-Hawthorne School Board member Franklin Warner who is under medical care at the University of Virginia.

• Mrs. Williams reported that she is addressing the issue of snow make-up days and will have her final proposal to the board at its second March meeting. She said, however, that she expects that all remaining holidays, except for Good Friday, will be used to make up for lost school days.
• Assistant Superintendent Jack Raines reported on donations including a computer from James Paulson, and $1,280 in minigrants and $1,000 for the REPEG fund from Headwaters.
