Jeff Scroggins
Region A, Scroggins wrestled a great controlled match to earn his and Rappahannock’s first trip to the consolation finals.
Wrestling Matt Perdue of host school James River, Scroggins proved the extra work he had put in this season would payoff. Scroggins dominated his opponent in the first period scoring two takedowns and scored another takedown in the second along with back points.
Leading going into the third period, Scroggins fought off all scoring attempts by his opponent to claim third place in the state wrestling tournament.
The season for Jeff Scroggins and the entire team was a season of firsts. For Scroggins, he was Rappahannock’s first district champion, first regional finalist and first top four statewide wrestler.
