On April 9 at 8 p.m., the Friday at the Library series sponsored by the Rappahannock Association for the Arts and the Community (RAAC) will present curator, author, and Rappahannock resident John Beardsley, who will share the story of the amazing “Quilts of Gees Bend.”
Beardsley will tell the story of the community, its “discovery^ in the 1960s and the evolution of the exhibit through beautiful slides of the quilts themselves.
The following day, RAAC will offer a special RAAC-on-Tbur trip to see the quilts themselves, which are now on display at the Corcoran Gallery in Washington, D.C.
