The Rappahannock County Sheriffs Office is investigating the report of a 10-yearold Washington boy that a man came to his home Friday and tried to lure him into a truck.
According to Sheriff Larry Sherertz, the boy was at home alone on Piedmont Avenue in Washington last Friday after getting home from school when a man came to the house and said “You’re supposed td come with me”
The boy became frightened, ran out the back of the house and rode his bicycle to a neighbors house where they called the boy’s mother.
The boy said the man had shoulder length, curly brown hair, was 6 foot 3 inches tall, in his mid-30s wearing a blue short sleeve shirt with black stains and blue jeans.
The boy said the man was driving a dark green, newlooking truck with a 4x4 marking on the back.
“This kind of report causes me great concern, “ Sherertz said, “it sounds like an abduction attempt.”
The sheriff said it was not yet known where the boy’s father is, or whether the boy recognized the man who came to the door. He said the case is under investigation and he
