JULY 9, 1964 A gentle rain which began early Wednesday morning brought temporary relief from a drought which threatened corn crops and the late hay crop. At 10 o’clock .23 of an inch of rain had fallen. At a meeting of the School Trustee Electoral Board of Rappahannock County which was held Tuesday, July 7, two members of the Rappahannock School Board were re-elected to office. Ralph H. Rowzie; representing Jackson District, and Irvin R. Kilby of Piedmont District were re-elected to serve 4year terms. Stanley Settle, Nelson Burner, Eddie Hill, and Raymond Mills, Jr. were among the Amissville Ruritan Club members who helped to cook and serve food at the barbecue held Saturday at the carnival grounds. Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Absher announce the birth of a daughter, Karen Lynne, born June 27, 1964, at Stillwater, Oklahoma. Mrs. Abner is the former Miss Barbara Jones, Rappahannock Home Demonstration Agent
