Even after holding the Region B trophy, Rappahannock County High School Scholastic Bowl coach David Naser still had a difficult time believing.

“I never thought this day would come,” Naser said, after his Panthers defeated George Mason, 215-175, to clinch their first-ever regional championship Saturday afternoon in Falls Church.

The victory also secured Rappahannock County’s third consecutive trip to the Group A Scholastic Bowl state tournament on Feb. 28 at The College of William & Mary.
