Rappahannock’s Water and Sewer Authority has received word from the Environmental Protection Agency on the status of the $1.5 million construction grant for Sperryville’s sewer system and the word is good. At Monday’s meeting, chairman Bob Dennis reported on receipt of a letter written by R. Fenton Roudabush, chief of the Virginia D. C. section of Water Management for EPA’s Philadelphia office, to E. R. Simmons, director of the Virginia State Water Control Board’s construction grant division (which will administer Sperryville’s grant). Roudabush wrote: “Currently, the only holdup on the grant application is the need for an EPA-approved User Charge System. We hope to be able to recommend the grant award as soon as this item is approved.”
