Rappahannock County senior captain A.J. Collins pointed out that returning to the state tournament has been one of the team goals this season.
This time, he said, he and his teammates would like to come home with the championship.
“We’d like to win it in four matches, if possible,” he said, “but when you get to states, it’s like there are eight Rappahannock-George Masons. It comes down to the questions, buzzer speed, and luck, and sometimes, luck is the biggest factor.”
“You do not get a break (with lesser competition) when you play at states ” junior Brittany Clatterbuck added. “It’s non-stop.”
