The specter of ‘200-foot telecommunications towers with warning lights being built on mountaintops elicited a lively discussion at the Board of Supervisors meeting on Monday. County Administrator John McCarthy suggested a public meeting to determine public sentiment for cellular telephone service.
Rappahannock County Public Schools sent 11 students to the District 14 Band Auditions in November 1998. As the highest score, Mattie Nawrocki of Rappahannock County Elementary school was selected to represent the county at the District 14 Band Festival. Mattie, a sixth grader, auditioned on trumpet which she will play in the District Band. She also plays the French horn in the Middle School Band.
