Two years ago, the Panthers lost to eventual state runner-up Radford in the opening round of the tournament. Last year, West Point clipped Rappahannock in the first round. The Panthers managed to win their first two matches in the losers’ bracket before falling in the semifinals.
Radford, the defending state champion, sits in the opposite half of the bracket from Rappahannock County. The two would face each other in the third match, if they are undefeated.
A Scholastic Bowl match consists of 50 questions. There are two rounds of 15 tossup questions and a directed round 10 questions to each team.
