For its size, Rappahannock County has more elected officials on its payroll than do rfjost communities across the country. A comparative study of the governing process shows that the local area is administered by 26 elected officials, equivalent to 55 per 10,000 people. Throughout the United States, by way of comparison, the average number of elected officials at the local level is 26 per 10,000 people.
Traffic crashes on Rappahannock County highways have occurred at the rate of almost two a day for the past week and include a posiihle fatality, two hit and runs with property * damage, a single-vehicle incident and several trashes in which two vehicles were involved.
