Susan Carpenter of the LA Times has compared Winik’s latest release to Edgar Lee Masters’ “Spoon River Anthology,” a classic that told the story- of a town in the voices of the deceased, though the characters in Winik’s book aren’t bound by geography but by their happenstance connections to the writer.
