A new chapter opens
for Blue Rock Inn

A Rappahannock landmark restaurant and inn that has been struggling in recent years just had new life breathed into it by an investor from Arlington, Va.
Said Hawa - a business owner and real estate investor - closed on the Blue Rock Inn last Friday for a purchase price of $1.5 million.
Last fall, the Blue Rock was foreclosed upon by the lender. Robert Harwood, who then spent time and money (over $100,000) to spruce the property up which had begun to look a little frayed around the edges.
There had been several rumors of potential buyers - and an extravagant winery plan that never came to fruition - but with the purchase by Hawa, the Blue Rock may once again be a local tourist draw.
The inn was started by two Frenchmen, the Campagne brothers in the 1980s, and was called Bleu Rock Inn. Since then it has had several owners who have struggled to maintain the inn and property.
