All we need is just a little of that executive
bonus money being paid for out of
our taxpayers’ wallets.
We know it must be hard to give up all those unearned perks, that bringing your lunch to work is a hardship, and taking a taxi instead of a limo is really out of the question.
It’s not that we really begrudge their arrogant and lazy sense of entitlement. It’s just that people out here are losing their jobs, having to take furloughs, going to the food bank instead of the grocery store, having to actually make sacrifices.
All of the corporate idiotic excesses would be okay as long as everyone were chipping in.
In the real world, people actually work for a living. We don’t have some glorified, pampered “job” for which we get paid millions for screwing up so bad, it not only takes down a company, but the rest of the country too.
We talked to several county residents to see how they are faring economically in this climate. (See Page Al) One person said she shops twice a month rather than weekly, some have seen a drop in business, others lost their jobs.
People have a right to be angry at these bailout companies. It would have been better to have let them fail from their own excesses.
