Moody Aylor is turning novice riders into polished fox hunters at the riding school he began last May at Old Mill Stables. With his daughter Kim as teaching assistant and a video camera as teaching aide, he plans to v expand courses this spring to include showing and eventing as well as ring and trail ride. Rappahannock pupils Hope Racer and Gaby Lee were among three winners chosen from a field of 51 contestants in the American history essay contest sponsored by the Culpeper Minute Men Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Hope Racer, a 6th grade pupil from Washington, wrote an essay called “A,Peace Maker of the Treaty of Paris: Benjamin Franklin.” Gaby Lee a Flint Hill 7th grader, submitted a paper titled, “The Peruke Maker.” Their compositions now advance to district competition. At a work session Monday night, the Rappahannock County Board of Zoning Appeals voted to mail meeting notices to people who might be affected by pending cases. The board unanimously approved a motion from Peter Kramer to send written notice to adjacent landowners and those directly across the road from any land with an application pending.
