The seventh grade at Rappahannock County Elementary School had a celebration of PI, a mathematical measurement, on Friday, March 13.
PI is the ratio of the circumference to the diameter of a circle - in other words, how far around the outside of a circle is compared to how far across the middle of a circle. It is the same number of every circle.
In recognition of PI, several wonderful people volunteered to be contestants for a PI-FACE contest.
Jars were placed in the lobby of the school with the contestants’ pictures on them.
Tickets were $1 each. The contestant with the most tickets in their jar had a bonus “PT thrown at them by a lucky winner.
The winner with the most tickets was Amy Hitt. She got two pies thrown at her. The second place person was Mr. “Bigger Man’ Danny Catron
