Community response to the ticketed Irish luncheon, so capably provided by David Huff and his crew from the County Cafe, was beyond our capacity to fully satisfy. The Washington fire hall was packed to capacity with some 140 ticket-holders, and all appeared to have a grand time listening to the Irish band from Charlottesville, King Golden Banshee, and watching the energetic and colorful young Irish step-dancers from Warrenton dance the jigs and reels. Edmund Kavanagh proved to be an able stand-up comic (as .well as parade Grand Marshall) ^wjthhis Irishjokes and blarney.
All tickets were sold out more than a week in advance and our only regret was that some who wished to attend were unable to do so, due to space limitations. Now that we know there’s such an appetite for Irish stew and shenanigans at this time of year, we can plan for an even grander celebration next time. Many who
