Sam Stickler, veteran corn grower and one of the beat seed producers in the State was by the office recently and gave us a bush* el of certified US 262, as well as a bushel of certified 111. 200 seed corn (both large flat) to be distributed among A-H boys carrying a corn project. Mr. Stickler’s corn had an official germination test of 96 per cent. However, just to make sure he doesn’t over-represent his product, he marked it down to 95 per cent. Bru Bradford aqd Lyle Rector of Flint Hill both have Stickley’s corn on sale.

A sheep shearing school will be held at Front Royal Beef Cattle Research Center; on Friday and Satjrday, May 5 and 6, and conducted by Ed Warner of the Sunbeam Corporation and George Litton, Animal Husbandman of VPI. Since no county shearer has been obtained to date, all Rappahannock sheepmen are urged to attend or see that one of their men attend. Instruction will start at 8:30 a.m. on Friday and individual training will be given .throughout the day; on Saturday each shearer will have opportunity to shear a number of sheep. In the past the school has 'been well attended. Anyone who does not have transportation contact me early—there will be room in my car for four.
