Dr. Pendleton Talks
To High School Students
On Friday morning at eleven o’clock Dr. Pendleton gave a most helpfi l and inspiring talk on the subject “What Is Life?”
He brought out the various ideas people have on that subject. Some people look on life as a duty; when they'have done their duty that is all they care about. An* other group of people think of life as a probationary period.
Dr. Pendleton's thought concerning life is that it is a succession of opportunities to be grasped and used. He poftited out that opportunities not taken when they are presented the first time seldom come again and when they do they are much more difficult to obtain.
Much was gained from Dr. Pendleton’s talk and all are looking forward to hearing him again.
4<The Minister’s Aunt”
The Glee Club is to present, a humorous play “The Ministers Aunt” on May 19.
Mrs. Cahan directs the singing, while Mrs. Corbin has charge of the dramatics.

While Van Johnson was being crowned at' the Apple Blossom Festival in Winchester, 176 students of Washington High School were cheering King Turkey, crowned by Mrs. Pullen and Mrs. Kendall.
In King Turkey's court were mashed potatoes, gravy and beets.
Social At W. H. S.
The school social on Friday night proved to be a big success. Games were payed before we began dancing.
Refreshments were served with Mrs. D. D. Miller presiding at the punch bowl. The menu consisted of cookies, potato chips, peanuts and punch.
We had a good time and regret that it was our last one this year.
