The event is sponsored annually by the VPI Block and Bridle/ Club. Before winning grand championship, Sweeker had placed first in • class for freshmen competition only, the fat cattle class, and the champion cattle class. Placing second in both the class for freshmen and the champion cattle class was Richard Ellis, 111, of Akoma. Second in the fat cattle class was Jack Taylor, of Sperryville, son of Romine Taylor. Reserve grand championship was won by Walter Potts, Purcellville, showing a Duioc gilt. Potts also placed first in the swine clss. Reserve champion in the swine class was David Lacy, Aroda. First it fitting and showing sheep was Ernest Bowling, wth a Southdown ram. Second was Tex Tilson, of Blacksburg, with a Hampshire ram. ____ .
Other classes and the winners were: Hampshire rams, Tex Tilson, first, and Charles Brown, of China Grove, N. C., second.
