Prize Beef Goes On Side

At Sperrjnrille Friday

Bobby Atkins’ prise baby beef will be on sate—at cost—at the Sperryville Locker Plant tomortow. Friday, May 12, at 10 a.m.

Tha 4-H hoy's calf, bred .on the farm of John S. Buckner is advertised as "Rappahannock bred, Rappahannock raised, and now to be Rappahannock consumed!”

The baby beef was purchased at the show and sale in Charlottesville by the Sperryville Locker * Plant. It was butchered at ShenValley, Tlmberville, and now is back in the county to be sold, at coot^r-firs^ come, first served.

WHITE ELEPHANT SALE

The Woman’s Auxiliary of Trinity Episcopal church will sponsor a White Elephant Sale on June IT, at 4 o’clock in.the after-, noon at Washington Courthouse. There will be a basaar table of fancy work and food, and some aatificee will be add with thp white elephants. Anyone having anything they would like to donate to the sale is esked to contact Mrs. J. W. Pries.

AUXILIARY TO MEET MAY 1«

The American Lsjkion Auxiliary will meet Tuesday, May 19, at Washington Fire 9 p.m. At this meeting work will begin on Christmas gifts for the gift shop in the veterans hospital in Roanoke. Materials will be available for stenciling doth and painting trays. There will also be a portable sewing machine. All members are urged to bring with them material for * gift.

BENEFIT BARE SALE

Woodville and Mt. Lebanon churches will sponsor a bake sale May 20, Saturday, in Culpeper in ■ the Pitts Bowling Alley building. This sale is being held for the , benefit of the personage fund.

Rev. end Mrs. M. E. Sliger of Flint Hill ere attending the Southern Baptist convention et the colliseum in Chicago this week. Mrs. Sliger is serving as a delegate from Washington Baptist church.
