Besides helping the needy aged ‘ and blind, and dependent children, we help a few people who are so physically or mentally disabled that they are unemployable. These we call General Relief cases because of the type of funds, we use to help them. General Relief funds are made up of state and local money. GR money can also be used for burials, emergency medical care, and aid to transients.
Our Foster Care program provides homes for children, who for various reasons must be cared ■for outside their own homes. Sometimes parents are no longer able to care for their children and entrust them to the welfare department; sometimes the home situation gets so had that the Juvenile Court commits the children to the fustody of the local welfare board, which then places them in homes. Foster care covers boarding care, free home and wage home placements, and adoptive home . placements. Finding the right kind of homes for children is just the beginning; like your children and mine they need constant attention. •Then we have a large group of ■What we call Service cases, which we try to help in ways other than
