School Newt
Rappahannock Nejfro Tnichork Association presented on Saturday, May 6, its annual May Day Festival. Schools taking: part were Amissville, Scrabble, Flint HiU, and Washington. The festival Was held at Washington School.
At 10 o’clock the festival began with Mrs. W. F. Moffett, who pre’ viously served as the first rural supervisor of Rappahannock county schools announcing the winners of the May Queen award. Miss Marie Bailey, of the 5th grade of Wasnington, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Bailey, was crowned queen. She was attired in a white organza floor-length gown, carrying a bouq-^t of red and white sweet peas. The queen was presented and crowned by Mrs. W. F. Moffett. Mrs. Moffett gave some very interesting remarks before she crowned the queen.
