By PkyliU Hidtra f The FFA end FHA chapters of Sperryville and Washington had a most enjoyable evening Thursday on their picnic at Hawksbill ] Recreation Park' near Stanley. We loft for the picnic at 2:30 in two straw; filled trucks and arri 'ed at Phwksbill about 4^00. After playing ball, dancing, and swinging until our hands were “ blistered we were served supper tin cafeteria style. After groaning f for a while from eating too much "we left for Luray to attend a ; movie. Having enjoyed he movie we left for home with the Spring air blowing in our faces. I’m sure everyone can say he had a grand time and will be looking forward to it again next year, v I Getting away from fun, in our classes we are taking up hew sub*; jects. Although it isn’t exactly drudgery <w* all agree it isn’t a i picnie "either..... .r v3^ | The freshman class is underway on a job of cleaning vhe Home Economics department. Girls, we will be looking for a shine on everything in about a week. !' I ,. The sophomore class has been divided into a cooking class and '! a sewing class. Lately, tempting smells have escaped the Home Ec room and the sewing girls have eagerly begun the task of making dresses, skirts, etc., for the hot “summer days. r The junior and senior classes are now studying child development. It turned out to be quite interesting until on Monday morning Miss Owen pame in with a big smile on her face and what do you think was in her hands—T a “pop” test. We found out <we couldn’t make her change her mind so we took it and now we are wondering what we made. I’m cure it wasn’t bad though.
Our favorite recipe for the - week is “Banana Custard Pie”, and I’m acre our neighbors will dud it delicious. .
