utaer Washington mayor* whose pictures appeared in the Post, along with Washington Virginia’s mayor, were Mayor Nissen of Washington, Utah; Mayor Kaiser of Port Washington, Wisconsin; Mayor Mace of Washington, Iowa; Mayor Slaton of Washington, Ga.; and Mayor Suttle of Washington, N. J.
The visiting dignitaries viewed the Sesqui’s American Processional of historic U. S. paintings, and the “Plan of Washington” at the Corcoran Gallery of Art. After having lunch in the Senate dining room, they lajd * wreath on
they attended the National Symphony concert at the Watergate.
Mayor Moffett, along with the other Washington mayors was presented with a special commemorative medal by Senator M. M. Neely of West Virginia, during the centennial observance.

Draws Large Crowd
A large crowd of people from various parts of the county and many outsiders attended the public auction sale of some of the personal property of Mn. Lillie M. Lillard, held Saturday at the J. W. Critser service station in Washington.
An unusually large oollectioii - of fine tools attracted men buyers. The ladies, as uiual, enjoyed the v sale of household articles. One j gentleman was heard to groan that he might as well go home and get the truck for his wife was trying to buy the place out, but the story at the end of the sale sounded as if he had bought more than she had.
Joe Johnson of SperryvQle was the auctioneer. The sale began at 2 o’clock and lasted to about 6:30 in the eveninsr.
