The Northern Virginia Power Company has completed its new line throughout the hollow, practically all the homes now, being served with current.
The state highway department has graded and re-surfaced the shortcut road from Highway 231, affording a quick and easy route to Sperryville. '
Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Carter are spending their (week ends at the farm purchased from Clarence Jenkins last year. They have made a number of improvements, including a rustic bridge across the stream flowing through their yard.
Miss Mildred Holmes, of the Security Administration in Washington, D. C., will soon authorize the construction of her new log cabin on the 10-acre plot purchased from Roy Jenkins recently. Her site also overlooks Sperryville as well as the P. T. Valley. - *
The new summer cottage built jointly by Mr. and Mrs. T. J. Pillar of Norfolk and Mr. and Mrs. Vaclav Rasin of Washington, D. C., on the Hazel River, is "be-? ing used by both families as a summer home. Modern facilities have been installed. Tl|s small cottage which was 'bought with the property is being used to accomodate guests from Washington, D. C., including the children of several prominent European families now residing in Washington.
The similarity ,of the mountain and valley scenery to the topography of Switzerland, where the developers, Mr. and Mrs. S. E. Hening, once lived, has suggested the name of “Little Switzerland’* for this pretty valley and the ney name is being adopted. - ’
