Only disappointed printers were working Tuesday, for on that day at Williamsburg the restored printing shop was being officially opened, on the 220th anniversary of the establishing of the first permanent printing shop in the American colonies. All the bigwigs of importance in press associations were there. Despite the fact that most printers realise the speeches were probably boring as—well, anyway, they would have liked to ha>e been present just the same.
Tuesday was the dog-gonest day to have the opening, anyway. All weeklies come out on Thursday, and all us “little” printers have to work.
