Caught in Tennessee
The last of the four convicts' who escaped from a road force on the Hoover road in Culpeper last Tuesday has been apprehended. when he returned to his home in Tennessee. - "“tv? vt
Five convicts overpowered and shot a guard. One of the live was captured the following morning at the home of C. T. Guinn, Jr., near Reva, Culpeper county, after the group had forced Claude Lee McCallum, 18, to harbor them for the night. The remaining four overpowered a rural mail carrier, ’ Stonewall Kilby, near Slate Mills and released him, unharmed, near Fairfax.
Three of the four convicts were recaptured during the week-end in Washington and Alexandria vicinity and the fourth one was picked up in Tennessee. It was known that his home was in that state and a look-out was placed to catch r him, following the old hunch that they will “always go home.”
