The business week began Monday morning as usual we can forecast one Monday what will take place next. At 12:30 R. E. Baggarly got up to give a bottle of - ale and a word of cheer'to torn* one late going home.
At 4:47 the sun answers the call of the roosters.
At <5:30 Carter Dearing rubs his eyes; at 5:35 Henry Adams goes slowly and quietly through town.
At 6:00 P. E. Chelf’s alarm clock goes off; at 6:30 Joseph Dearing carries an a running fight through town with a couple of cows._, __
At 6:45 E. M. Green and J. L. Cresap go out of the house to feed their horses and water their cows.
At 6:56 P. E. Chelf rises.
At 7:00 P. E. Chelf eagerly and excitedly asks if his breakfast bell has been heard; at 7:05 P. E. Chelf states he has not slept well the night before. ,
At 7:15 mail starts out of town; at 7:30 W. J. Browning walks down town.
At 8:30 W. J. Browning runs around.
At 9:00 G. L. Bradford runs through town with his furniture under his aim looking for a place to store it for a few days.
At 9:15 E. M. Yates and his laundry wagon stop in front of Carey’s store.
At 9:30 W. J. Browning walks back through town.
At 10:00 laundry wagon still in town; at 10:30 P. E. Chelf begins to say it is the hottest day he has ever felt; at 11:30 P. E. Chelf begins to disappear; at 12 noon housewives wonder if they haVe prepared enough for the noonday meal; at 12:30 laundry wagon moves to Bradford Bros, store.
At 1:00 dinner bell rings.
At 2 E. M. Greene and J. L. Creasap move to upper porch.
At 3 laundry wagon starts for home. At 6 laundry wagon still in town. And so it goes every Monday. We have been asked to give the diary of a busy town and we take Monday in Flint Hill, which is a typical day.
