Schedule for the Week: « * There will be a Castleton H.D. club -meeting November 15 at 2 p.m. at the home of Mrs. Clarence Scott. The demonstration will be on “Winter Bouqufets.” Anyone wishing to visit Mrs. John Woodward’s living room between 2 and 2:30 p.m. can do so, and then come to the meeting.
Slate Mills H.D. club will meet at the home of Mrs. Stonewall Kilby, November IS, at 7:30 p.m. The demonstration will be on winter bouquets. _F.T.ValkyNettH.U.clubwill meet at the home of Mrs. Milton Sisk, November 16, at 2 p.m. The demonstration will be on winter bouquets.
Woodville H.D. club Living Room Tour will be held November 17, starting at 2 p.m Any women in the county who wish to go on this tour are cordially invited to attend it. We will all meet at the home of Mrs. R. M. Johnson at 2 p.m. and then go in cars to visit Miss Nellie Johnson’s living room, and then visit Miss Ethel Long’s living room, where the regular H.D. meeting will be held. A demonstration will be given by the agent on winter bouquets. These women have done a line job so come and see their accomplishments.
Most all the monthly 4-H clubs met last week, and carried on their project work^for this month.
The Forest Grove 4-H girls are taking a “Housekeeping Project” this year. At their meeting they learned how to make a ‘bed hospital style, how to make a dust.Jess dust, cloth, and what to do in cleaning their room daily and weekly.
Reaguer 4-H club chose two projects, one on housekeeping and one on “So You’d Like to Sew.” They learned how to thread a needle, knot a thread, and hold a needle. They were also taught how to put in a hem. AH the girls brought in sewing boxes fully equipped.
Washington Jr; 4-H club is taking “Clothing Construction” this winter. The girls decided at this meeting to make one of the following articles of clothing :v skirt, blouse, or jumper.
Sperryville 4-H club members are taking two projects, clothing construction and good grooming. The girls in the good grooming project learned how to equip -a shoe-shining kit and were urged to bring this kit to the next meeting.
Mrs. Lewis Harrison and Mrs. Barbara Gentry, leaders of the Reager 4-H; Mrs. George Taylor, leader for Sperryville club; and Mrs. Katherine Riley and Mrs. Graham Hackley of the Amissville club are doing a fine job with their 4-H clubs.
This is National 4-H Achievement week. Many of the counties over the state are celebrating by conducting achievement day programs, or a 4-H county council meeting. Rappahannock 4-H clubs are going to celebrate by holding a 4-H county council meeting Saturday, November 11. All 4-H club officers of the county and all 4-H leaders in the county will attend -this program. Awards for the year will be given out and officers of the different clubs will be told their duties for the year. - LIVING ROOM TOUR » '
A splendid Living; Room Tour •w*» held SWvtmb'er i m ^aeh-£ -ington. Twenty-one H.D. members went on the tour. Everybody met at Washington Fire House at 7:36 p.m. and went first to Mrs. Irvin Sisk’s home to see her redecorated dining room, then to Mrs. Charlie . Bruces’s to see her living room, and lastly to Mrs. Floyd Compton’s living room. I know all who attended this tour will say these women did an expert job-in redecorating. After the tour everybody met back at the Firehouse. Slides were shown by the agent on 'Williamsburg Bouquets,” and then a demonstration was given on winter bouquets. Hostesses, Mrs. Ora Ramey and Mrs. Jessie' Rowsie, served the group with splendid refreshments. * -
. David Lyne, son of Igj^-eM Mrs. W. H. Lyne, has been quite sick for the past week with tonsilitis.
