At Manassas Mar. 23-24
*D. C. Link, 'secretary of District G, announced last night that1 the District G basketball tournament will be held at Manassas, Friday and Saturday, February 23 and 24. The teams that take part in the tournament were chos«n on the baeis of the highest percentage of the games won. The district is divided into two divisions,' east and west. The two leading boys teams in the Eastern -division were Herndon, who won 11 games and , lost none and Stafford, who won 7 and lost 2. In the Western division boys, Marshall won 10. out of 11 and Lincoln 6 out of 8. -
Eastern division girls find Stafford in the lead, winning 7 out of 9, Occoquan second place, 8 out of 8. Western division girls find Rappahannock winning 8 out of 8 and Leesburg winning 8 out of 9.
The tournament opens Friday afternoon at 2:30 with Rappahannock girls meeting the Occoquan girls and at 3:30 Friday^ Marshall against Stafford boys.. Friday - night at 7:30 Stafford - against Leesburg girls and Friday 8:30, Herndon against Lincoln boys. The winners in Friday afternoon and Friday night contests will play for the championship of the District, Saturday night at 7:30 for the girls and 8:30 for the boys. Saturday afternoon at 2:30 the girls will play for 3rd and 4th places, at 8:30 the boys will play for 8rd and 4th places.
There is considerable interest worked up this year over the tournament and provisions are being made to accommodate a large crowd. The admission will be 50c for students and 75c for adults for each session.
