Letters In The Paper
It is a good, healthy sign when people use their county newspaper to air their views on the problems besetting the county.
It is also a time-saver for the public meetings. Monday night, when tbe people of the county gather at the county P-T A meeting at the high school to determine what should be done about this school building program, there are many problems already threshed out in the paper. Some suggestions have been brought out and thoroughly discussed; some of the letters, while not presenting definite thoughts of their own, have given rise to other plans more definite.
Letters in the paper give a chance to hear the voice of the citizen who doesn’* think well “on his feet” hut can collect, his thoughts more carefully when you set him down in the quiet at his desk with paper and ink.
This business ef the schools affects every person in the county, whether he has a child in school or not, for your schools are largely your future, and each one of us wants a part in the county’s government and future. There are those who have the ability to stand up in a public meeting and take part and do their share of the working add planning, but for others, without those particular talents, there is the county newspaper where views can be aired.
