Mrs. T. C. Lea, who is chairman of the Rappahannock county chap* ter National Foundation for In* fantile Paralysis, has announced the following amounts collected:
Hampton District, $215.50; Wakefield District, $173.95; Pied* mont District, $173.30; Jackson District, $105.25; Stonewall District, $98.11; Hawthorne District, 343.00. Amount from dance $149.47, and amount from movie $49.88. Total $1007.46.
Expenses were $71.97. Supplies and stamps. $45.93 and tax for . dane* ■$26.04, leaving balance of -$035.49. Half of this ambuiit will ' be sent to the National Founda* tk>n for* Infantile Paralysis and the other half will be kept in the Rappahannock County chapter. v

Of Dr.' Charles Eckardt?
Did your mother study music under Dr. Charles Eckardt? Or perhaps your grandmother, or your aunt? If so, the Front Royal Music Study Club would appreciate your help in preparing a program-it is sponsoring to recognize and preserve the record of the valuable. cultural heritage left by this pioneer music teacher of Rap-■. pahannock, Warren, and Clarke counties. From his diary covering the years 1858-’73, it is known ' that Dr. Eckardt taught music in many leading Rappahannock families, including the Eastham, Dudley, Browning, Deatherage, Miller, O’Rannon, Buckner, Dear, Reid, Massey, Downing, Wayman, and Menefee families. ^ * The Music Club is anxious to learn whether any of Dr. Eckardt's former pupils still are living, and whether there have .been handed down in these families any reminiscences or relics of his teaching activities, interesting stories or ■ facts, letters or papers, sheet music be taught $r composed, his .picture, etc, - 4 \ ^
