Farm Ownership Meeting

At Culpeper February 28

The regular annual Farm Ownership meeting for Culpeper, Rappahannock, and Madison counties will be held February 28 at 10:00 a.m. in the Municipal Building at Culpeper, it was announced recently by B. F. White, County Supervisor of the Farmers Home Administration.

Approximately 22 families buying or improving their farms through FHA supervised credit are expected to.attend.

Theme of the all-day session will be the value of improved pastures and particularly emphasis will be placed on the "Live at Home" program. A special feature of the program will be the Showing of colored slides, pertaining to both of the above subjects. Lunch will be served by the homemakers at noon with an interesting movie being shown after lunch by Mr. H. R. Linkous, Manager Virginia Electric and Power Company.

A summary and analysis of production figures in 1350 borrower record books will be presented by IB.-Ft. White, to show families where they have made gains Ih their farm business, and where they need to strengthen weaknesses in the year ahead.

The meeting will be educational in nature, B. F. White said, with major time being spent on borrower discussion of farm problems. Assisting the supervisor with the 'discussion will be the FHA committeemen.

“The FO annual meeting is one of FHA’s method of group supervision” White explained, “and supplements the individual assistance we give borrowers on their farms. We are'proud of the accomplishments being n|ade by Culpeper, Rappahannock and Madison county families cooperating in the FHA program, and have planned this event to help further their progress."^ M;

Birthday Celebration

A joint celebration was held on Sunday in the home of Elder and Mrs. J. H. Daily- in honor of the birthday anniversary of Elder Daily and his sister Mrs. Iva Barr; A three-tiered birthday cake beautifully decorated with the names of the honorees on it, was a centerpiece for the long dining table. Elder Daily was also the'recipient of another decorated cake, presented by Miss Justine Lockhart, of Bentonville. The lunch was served buffet style to the following guests, Mr. and Mrs. W. B.
