Brush Burning Law ■
In Effect March I, May Iff
Beginning Mafch 1 and ending May 15, no person may set fire to any brush, leaves, debris, or field containing dry grass or other inflamable material capable of spreading fire, located within 300 feet of any woodland or brushland except between the hours of 4 p.m. to 12 midnight. This law is commonly known as The Brush Burning Law and even though all precautions are taken, it is against the law to burn during the above period except between the hours so stated.
If you have any necessary burning that has to be done, the month of February would be the best time to burn. If you wait until the month of March, much time will be spent by your Chief Forest Warden, Raymond M. Johnson, checking each fire . During the investigation of these false alarms, a real forest fire could break out and valuable time may be lost be‘ fore the Chief Can be notified.
