It is with great sadness that the citizens of Rappahannock have to accuse their neighbor, one E. • Cylde Baggarly, of being inhospitable, but ^evidence surely points in that direction. On a recent evening, that inhospitableBaggarly located two itinerants— travelers upon the highways of our fine county-»-comfortably ensconsed in one of the buildings on his property. Do you think he invited the men in for dinner, or even for a pleasant night’s lodging? No. He asked them all kinds of personal questions about where they worked—even when he could see that they gave no appearance of having worked ever before in their lives. When they gave him some answers about having jobs on newspapers in Washington, D.C. he was even impertinent enough to inquire as to which paper. And after insulting them by doubting their word, he allowed the Sheriff to give them three hours to get across the county line.
The printers’ union oughta’ . picket Avon Hall with placards reading “Baggarly Is Unfair To Printers.” (They said they were printers.) He oughta’ be ’shamed of hi’self, turning those poor tramps out when they had just settled down for a comfortable night’s rest.
