National Home Demonstration week, April 27 to May 3 will be celebrated by Virginia's home demonstration club members, joined by li million women in other states under the general theme “Today’s Home Builds Tomorrow’s World."
An all day spring tying clinic was held at the home of Mrs. Mabel Lillard, Wednesday, April 16. The ladies tied springs and put on new padding in a sofa and chair. Those taking part were Mrs. Walter Lillard, Mrs. Norman Flythe, Mrs. John Vest, Mrs. Carson Lillard and Mrs. Wade Pullen.
Hugh Ramsey, representative of R. E. A. from Culpeper conducted the first meeting of 4-H electrical project, being sponsored by county council, Wednesday evening at the fire house. BiBU Lyne, county agent, explained requirements .of this project and also awards Which were possible to win. Mr. Ramsey’s topic was the place of electricity on farm and in the home which he very abled demonstrated with a movie. He also demonstrated effect of right size wires in right places. 4-H’ers present were Evelyn Miller, Etta Campbell, Mary Lou Campbell, Paula Miller, Bessie Fox, Eleanor Atkins, Sarah Flythe, Lelia Gentry, Glen Updike, Elmer Footer Jr., Kelly Updike, Kenny Clater, Jimmy Sealock, Jacob Side, Ivory Atkins and John Turner. Leaders and parents are urged to attend and those present at the first meeting were Mrs. Barbara Gentry, Miss Ruth Stevens, Mrs. George Taylor and Rev. Norman Flythe. ——
