Mrs. D. D. Miller Resigns
As Red Cross Chairman
I wish to announce to the citizens of Rappahannock County that I have resigned as chairman of the Rappahanock County Chapter of the American Red Cross, a position I have held since the death of the late Mrs. J. Hill O’Bannon.
I would like to thank all those ' who have worked with me in this great work, and I sincerely hope that you will continue.
The more I learn about this organization, the firmer I am convinced of its great value to humanity. It is a wonderful organization, carried on by citizens of all countries, and, therefore, most democratic
The Red Cross has duties to fulfill that no other organization can perform, especially to those who are in our armed forces. If someone in the Red Cross does not do his or her duty, it is up to you and me as citizens Of our country to report it.
Mrs. Kathleen Lawreriee of Sperryville has been made chairman; Mrs. Jaenie Jarvis of Sperryville, home service chairman; and Miss Ruth Stevens and Mrs. Paul Miller of Flint Hill, co-chairmen of the Blood Bank.
I sincerely hope that every one in the county will feel that it is not only a duty but a privilge to cooperate with these ladies and make our boys and girls in the service proud of the Rappahannock County Chapter of the American Red Cross. I have considered it a‘'privilege and it has given me untold happiness every time I was called upon and was able to lie of service to our boys in the past, and hope that I will be able to continue in an humble way to serve them through the American Red Cross.
