t W. W. Lewis, extension agronomist of VPI, advises: “The last General Assembly (1952) changed the fertilizer law to legalize the sale of rock phosphate in Virginia. This material contains from 30 to 33% phosphate acid of which 3 to 5% is available according to chemical solubility tests used by the state control Chemist.” There have been many questions asked locally and over the state as a whole regarding this material. In an effort to answer these questions a committee of the agronomy department has prepared circular 549 . . Ground Rock Phosphate which is available at this office.
