Basic Training
Pvt. John Cloud, husband of Mrs. Virginia H. Keyser Cloud, Washington, recently completed his basic training with the 5th Infantry Division here. «S
His 16-week course with the famed 5th “Red DiamondM'J)ivision was conducted by combat-toughened vets of World War II and Korea.
He Was instructed in the use of conventional light and heavy Infantry weapons as well as such recentlydeveloped weapons as the 75-mm. recoilless rifle. Sguad and platoon tactics, living in the field, and protective measures against atomic warfare were also included in his training.
