Hearing Set For July 21
To Stop Bus Service
Bus service through Rappahannock county from Fredericksburg to Winchester stopped for the • daily runs June -1, and since that time the Trailways bus runs the route only on Saturdays.
According to information from the State Corporation Commission a hearing by Virginia Stage Lines, Inc., to discontinue such bus service east and west through Rappahannock will be heard July 21.
The communication reads thus:
“The petition of Virginia Stage Lines, Inc., seeking authority to abandon the operation of passenger motor vehicle service under Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity N. P-1121 between Wilderness, Virginia and SperryVille, Va.; and between Massies Corner, Virginia and Front Royal, Virginia.
“It is ordered that this matter be set for -hearing in the court room of the State Corporation Commission, Richmond, Virginia, on July 21, 1952 at 10 o’clock, a.m.”
A number of Rappahannock people have protested the inconvenience of no bus service bebetween the county to and from Culpeper and Front Royal.
There is excellent twiee-a-day bus service between Luray and Warrenton, with the ever-accom- „ modating Aubrey Purdum as the * driver.
