Circuit Court Convenes ' •
Circuit Court convened on Monday 10, with Judge J. R. H. Alexander presiding. * The grand jury returned indictments for felony against Robert and Haywood Dodson and James O. Payne. These cases will be tried at f later date, during the November tirin' of the Circuit Court.
A. B. Jones (colored) of Washington, D. C., who was convicted on October 24, of driving drunk, was sentenced to 30 days in jail, (suspended on good behavior) fined $100 and cost, and his permit was revoked to operate any motor vehicle on the Virginia roads for 12 months. At tha| time Jones decided to take an appeal but on Monday, he appeared before Judge Alexander and asked for it be remanded to the Trial Justice Court.. This request wa^ granted, so his punishment remains as on October 24. The visiting lawyers on Monday were Charles Stone of Warrelfton, Mrs Helen M. Jeffries and John L. Jeffries III of Culpeper.
