Section J01. (A) Due to unpresedented drought conditions prevailing throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia, and due to the fact that the presence of- day and night hunters in J$ie fields and woods of the State would add to the further spread of fire, and (B) Upon the recommendations of the State Forest Service, and of the. y. S. Forest Service, ■ which agencies are joined, by sportsmen’s organizations, hunters and County Boards of Supervisors, the Commission of Game and Inland Fisheries proclaims the following order:
1. That the open season for hunting any species of wildlife during the day or night shall cease on the effective date of this order, and continue until such order is lifted.
2. That the general hunting season west of the Blue Ridge ^Mountains which has been set to open on November 17, 1952, and the general hunting season east of the Blue Ridge Mountains which has been set to open November 20, 1952, be and the same is hereby closed to all day and night hunting. Provided, however, that should sufficient rain fall prior to the aforesaid dates, this order shall of the Comission become null and void.
3. That should the closing of the seasons as set forth in Section two (2) of this order be carried out, the general hunting season shall then open by proclamation of the Commission as soon as weather conditions warrant. %
