For Candidate Filing
The Democratic committees for both Senatorial and Legislative offices of state legislature have announced that candidates shall file notice with the chairman of each committee ninety days prior to the primary, July 14. '
In regular 3-day month counting, that means the forthcoming Senator and Representative shall file their declaration of candidacy by next Tuesday, April 14. With, May having 31 days, the final date may be counted as Wednesday, April lb.
It is understood ths* Tom Frost will be unopposed as Delegate for the new district of Rappahannock and Fauquier. Mr. Frost’s record of service for his own county, plus his general popularity m Rappahannock, assures that he will be the delegate.
There has been speculation on who will be the Senator from the 24th district. Raymond Guest’s resignation came as a surprise to many of the people and at first there were three names suggested in general talk about the county as to who would be the next Senator.
No statements have been made by any of the three names that werq first discussed. W. C. Armstrong, Jr., and James W. Fletcher, two named as likely candidates, are both popular in Rappa■ hannock, and public sentiment , says that either one would carry a solid vote In the county. Fred SeritymV'Of Harrisonburg, also a very popular figure with Demo-’ 1 crate, has been named as a possible candidate.
