Saturday, April 18, Bake Sale for County Committee at Culppeer Bowling Alley beginning at 8:30 a.m. Forest Grove 4-H girls prepared an excellent exhibit of their garments made in project “So You'd Like To Sew.” Girls winning ribbons were: Ann Utz,#red; Dorothy Wood, red; and Elizabeth Printz, blue.
Melvin Williams was appointed chairman of finance committee selling Southern Planter. Anne- Dodson opened the Sperryvflle II meeting (4-H) with a Bible reading. Janet Lillard was appointed finance chairman to sell Southern Planter. Committee planning Rural Life Sunday program are: Judy Hawkins, Carolyn Turner, Linda Log Dodson, and Neville Wood. Carolyn Turner's program for April was reading of several poems.
SperryviHe III girls exhibitd their sewing at the April club meeting. Girls being awarded ribbons were: Betty Sisk, white; Elizabeth Smith, red and Holly Updike, red. Program this month was selected poems by Holly Updike.. Rural Life Sunday committee appointed were J. W. Brown and Jean Cornell. Washington Sr. girls exhibited their dresses at the dub meeting. Faye Black won a red ribbon and Caroletta Gough was awarded a blue ribbon. Rural Life Sunday committee are Betty Lou Rutherford, John Turner and Hill Walker.
