Amissville VFD Reverses
Pay-As-You-Go Stand
By a close vote of 8 to 7, with 6 members abstaining; the Amissville Volunteer Fire Department reversed itself on its recently adopted Pay-asYou-Go policy, at its regular meeting, April 1.
The Department now plans to try to borrow money on its partially completed firehouse building in order to have the second story floored, a well drilled,, the electric wiring completed, lighting fixtures and toilet facilities installed.
The reversal came about as a result of non-progress on the building. It was found that members were' too hard pressed by other obligations to finish the building by volunteer labor. The well-drilling in any case could not be handled by the membership. New donors to the fire department were announced by Treasurer Theodore Barron as follows: Mr. and Mrs. Mark Payne, $30, and Dorothy Sayre, F. G. Kinsey, Paul Smith, Arthur Foster and Mrs. Clara Aylor, smaller sums. I The department admitted a new • member, A. J. Bailey, of Amissville.
Sisk - Tanner
Mr. and Mrs. Russell Tanner of Reva announce the marriage of their daughter, Hazel Virginia, to Carroll M. Sisk, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Sisk of Flint Hill. The marriage was performed in Baltimore, Maryland, Saturday, April 4.
