Funeral services were held 'from Willie Chapel on Sunday after, noon, with Rev. David Menchhofer officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers were Horace Williams, Horace Williams, Jr., BowfH»r. , William**: Norman/ Payne, Dewey Ritenour, and Herbert Foster.
Robert E. Rutherford
Robert E. Rutherford died in a Winchester hospital Sunday, April 6.
Mr. Rutherford, 35, was the son of the late John Rutherford and Mrs. Ira Rutherford of Rappahannock county. He is survived by bis wife, Mrs. Anna Smoot Rutherford, and three small children.
Graveside services were held on Tuesday afternoon in the family graveyard in Bean Hollow. The Rev. R. iH. Scroggins officiated.
Pallbearers were Wilson Leake, Conrad Leake, Tom Leake, and Reuben Smoot.
School Children Get
“A” Rating in Competition
The children of the colored elementary schools received a high rating at a recent competitive sing, when the schools of the 10th Negro district met at Charlottesville. The schools of Amissville, Scrabble, Flint Hill, and Washington took part in the contest. Miss Charlotte Golladay, music supervisor, pointed out that die rating sheet marked by die judges was most complimentary and showed an over-all rating of “A.”
