The cows belonged to Herbert Foster, Windsor Lodge Farm; Ellis Bennett, and Col. W. R. Williamson. "Mrs. D. B. Smith made application for membership subscribing six cows. Also Cletus Printz paid mmbership dues. To date the association has 93 members subscribing 610 cows.

The following letter was received from the State Veterinarian, Dr. \ft. L. Bendix and is ‘offered fro the consideration of any Rappahannock swine producers that might be feeding bargabe. Final Warning To Garbage Feeders: ~ .Virginia cannot endanger its $50,000,000-a year swine industry because a few garbage feeders will not cooperate.
After all that has been said about vesicular exanthema, there are still feeders who are not cooking their garbage.
Three of them in the last three months have lost their herds because they became infected. The same thing can happen to any feeder who persists in feeding garbage raw.
The Federal Government says it will quarantine any state which does not treat every hog fed raw garbage as a hog exposed to vesicular
This department cannot allow the whole state of Virginia' to be quarantined, and is prepared to take whatever measures are necesary to prevent such a quarantine.
Cooking garbage is not expensive. All you need to do is boil it 30 min. The Division of Animal Industry, State Office Buliding, Richmond, can tell you how to do it
Remember, there is not much time. This department must take action in the next few weeks. Any feeder who is not cooking garbage at that time will have to take the consequences.
