The wedding of Miss Mary Massie Lea, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thurmond C. Lea, of Washington, Virginia, and John George Cargill, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Cargill of Chatham, New Jersey, took place Saturday afternoon at 3 o’clock in Trinity Episcopal Church, Washington, the Rev. Wilfred T. Waterhouse officiating. White snapdragons and lilies decorated the candle-lighted church, and nuptial music was provided by Mrs. Q. D. Gaskue, organist, and Miss Mary Lowell Gray, soloist.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a gown of white slipper satin, having a portrait neckline appliqued with re-embroidered? d'Alencon lace with miniature pearls accenting the centers of the floral pattern. A panel of matching lace at the sides of the flaring skirt marked the lines of the circular cathedral train of nylon tulle. Her fingertip illusion veil was held by a cap of lace and satin, and she carried a white orchid with a stephanotis shower on her prayer book.
