Now Jesus kneew Lazarus was already dead when the messenger arrived,''but in order to substantuate His claims which He had previously made as bejng the Son of God, He waited so the body would be in a decomposed state and the people would then know that a higher power than man raised it up. They would have to believe that at least He was working in cooperation with the Father. We know Lazarus had died before the messenger arrived since it took a da/ to g$t over to Pered where Christ was and He then waited tw6 days more plus a 4th day going to them and Martha’s remark of 4 days at the Tomb.
